Product Advantages
Housing, membrane, support layers, cage, and end caps are all manufactured from polypropylene. This homogeneous material construction eliminates compatibility issues between dissimilar materials and enables use across a broad range of solutions, pH levels, and temperatures.
All components are assembled via thermal welding without glues, adhesives, or surfactants. This eliminates extractables from bonding agents and reduces the risk of leachables contaminating the filtrate.
The depth-type polypropylene media structure provides high contaminant loading capacity while maintaining low initial pressure drop. The pleated configuration maximizes effective filtration area-ranging from 148 cm² (2.5″ capsule) up to 5,500 cm² (10″ capsule).
All-polypropylene construction resists most acids, bases (pH 1–14), and common solvents. Suitable for filtering aqueous solutions, organic solvents, and aggressive chemical streams.
The capsule may be repeatedly autoclaved with steam at 121°C for 20 minutes for up to 5 cycles. Alternative sterilization methods include ethylene oxide (EtO) treatment.
Low Hold-Up Volume
Retention volume with air purge is less than 2 mL, minimizing product loss during filtration.
Why Choose Us?
We supply 5μm polypropylene capsule filters manufactured with all-PP homogeneous construction and thermal-welded sealing. Every unit is produced in ISO-classified cleanrooms and 100% integrity-tested before shipment. Our filters are autoclavable up to 5 cycles and compatible with pH 1–14 fluids. We offer 7 connection interface options and 3 capsule lengths (2.5″, 5″, 10″) to match your existing piping without system modification.

Everything You Need to Know
Q1: What is the difference between 5 μm and 0.2 μm capsule filters?
A: The 5 μm filter is a prefilter or clarification filter designed to remove larger particles and debris. The 0.2 μm filter is a sterile-grade final filterthat removes microorganisms. The 5 μm filter is typically installed upstream of a 0.2 μm filter to extend the final filter's service life by reducing its particle load.
Q2: Can this filter be sterilized?
A: Yes. The capsule can be autoclaved with steam at 121°C for 20 minutes for up to 5 cycles. Ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization is also available.
Q3: What chemicals is this filter compatible with
A:The all-polypropylene construction provides broad chemical compatibility. It resists most acids, bases (pH 1–14), and common organic solvents. However, polypropylene can degrade when exposed to strong oxidizing agents or certain aggressive solvents-verify compatibility for your specific fluid before use.
Q4: Can I use this filter for gas filtration
A: Yes. Polypropylene is hydrophobic and can be used for vent air and process gas filtration. However, for sterile gas applications requiring 0.01–0.02 μm retention, use a PTFE membrane filter instead.
